The Verrerie de Biot story began in 1956 in the Alpes-Maritimes area (South of France), when the ceramics engineer Eloi Monod adopted a technique for making glass in which trapped bubbles catch and refract the light.
Eloi and Luce Monod trained a whole generation of talented glassmakers. In the magical ares of Biot glassworks they forged a renewal of this art in France and won Biot an international reputation.
